New resource launched to help King County residents fight PFAS exposure

PFAS, or perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances, are used for their durability and resistance to water, grease, and stains. However, these same properties make them difficult to break down, leading to their nickname, “forever chemicals.” Learn more about a new resource that can fill you in on regional efforts addressing PFAS and help you reduce your exposure to PFAS overall.

Join the Garden Hotline, Seattle Public Utilities, and Carkeek Park Salmon Stewards for this year’s Salmon Celebration! There will be songs, scavenger hunts, art projects, dance performances, free donuts, coffee, cider, Bert the Salmon and other family friendly educational activities like a salmon dissection, community booths, and more! Meet Garden Hotline educators and Master Composter Sustainability Stewards at their booths to ask natural yard care questions and pick up some educational material.
