Home Collection Program

Are you a King County resident 65 or older, or a resident with a disability? If you do not have a vehicle or are otherwise unable to access a hazardous waste collection site, you can call the Household Hazards Line to schedule a waste pickup at your home.

When you call, be ready to provide:

  • Your name, address, and telephone number.
  • The types and amounts of waste you have for collection.

A collection date will be scheduled, usually Wednesdays, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Please note that there may be a backlog of pick-ups.

Note that the Home Collection staff does not collect other special wastes such as latex paint, tires, electronics, or medications.

Dear Customer,

Hazardous Waste Management Program is suspending home pick up services due to health concerns related to COVID-19. The safety of our customers and staff is our priority. We are following the guidelines from Public Health – Seattle & King County to protect our workers and community. This is a short-term change to our services. Please hold on to your items. Store them safely following the instructions on the labels. As this situation resolves, we will bring back the services.

Thank you for your patience as we monitor and respond to this rapidly evolving situation. If you would like to be notified when services are available again, please contact us at haz.waste@kingcounty.gov or 206-296-4692

Monday–Friday, 9 a.m.–4:30 p.m. Closed on holidays.
