Accepted at hazardous waste collection sites

Roadside and marine flares can be taken to North Seattle and South Seattle hazardous waste collection facilities.

  • Limit of 10 road or marine flares per visit
  • No marine flares are accepted at the Auburn Wastemobile or traveling Wastemobile
  • Once the marine flare container is full, no additional marine flares can be accepted

Please note: As of November 14, 2022, the Factoria hazardous waste collection site is temporarily not accepting aerial marine flares. Up to 10 road flares are still accepted. Please safely store marine flares and monitor this page or the Hazardous Waste Management Program's Facebook page for when the Factoria hazardous waste location is able to accept them again. You may still bring marine flares to either the North Seattle or South Seattle hazardous waste locations. Limits apply. (11/14/2022)

    Closed on July 4, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day.

  • South Seattle
    Thursday – Saturday

    9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

    Located next to the transfer station.
    Closed on July 4, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day.

  • Factoria
    Tuesday – Friday, Saturday and Sunday

    13800 SE 32nd St. Bellevue, WA 98005
    8 a.m. – 4 p.m. (Tues-Fri), 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. (Sat-Sun)

    The Factoria facility is located at the transfer station. Closed on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Years Day.

  • Auburn
    Saturday – Sunday

    1101 Outlet Collection Way, Auburn, WA 98001
    10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

    The Auburn Wastemobile location is open on weekends, year-round. Marine Flares are not accepted at this location.
    Located near the loading dock of Nordstrom Rack. In 2022, this location is closed Nov. 26-27, Dec. 24-25 and Dec. 31. Also closed Jan. 1, 2023.
