Compressed gas cylinders cannot go in the garbage. Contact the supplier or manufacturer to return the cylinder. In most cases, suppliers or manufacturers will take back the cylinder at no cost.
If not recycled, compressed gas cylinders must be handled as hazardous waste. If the compressed gas cylinder is under 24 inches or 2 feet in length, it may be accepted at one of the hazardous waste collection sites with pre-approval. Contact the Hazardous Waste Help Line at 206-296-4692 or email@example.com for more information and pre-approval.
